Commercial roller shutter doors are a vertical rolling shutter door system comprising horizontal laths forming the curtain, side guides, bottom rail, barrel assembly and canopy.Rolling shutters are commonly used as a door to provide a high level of security for all types of properties.

Depending on the specification they are traditionally manufactured from galvanised steel or extruded aluminium. The size (height & width) of the opening/shutter will dictate the size and thickness of the components used. They are classified as a machine under EU legislation and must be serviced and maintained by a capable person regularly.

Curtain Options

Depending on customer preference, we produce a range of shutter types to suit your requirements.

  • 38mm aluminium (punched and perforated)
  • 36mm, 55mm, 77mm aluminium (solid, punched or insulated)
  • 75mm solid galvanised steel dome lath
  • 75mm solid plastisol steel dome lath
  • 75mm perforated galvanised steel dome lath.
  • 75mm punched galvanised steel dome lath.

Basic Specification

  • Extruded aluminium guides with nylon brush seals.
  • Various canopy/box sizes
  • Extruded aluminium bottom rail complete with rubber seal.
  • Solid lath may be used as an intersection with punched or perforated sections if required.
  • Punched curtains can either be brick bonded or in a straight line (inline) pattern.
  • Tube and link portcullis grille

Operation

  • 1 Ph electric (typical 240-volt tubular motor with an anti-fall-back device (safety brake)
  • Manual push-up pull-pull-down spring assisted (size dependent)

Optional Extras

  • Polyester powder-coated (British Standard or RAL)
  • Remote control operation when safety edges and photocell(s) are fitted.
  • Lexan glazing can be added to each punched aluminium section for increased protection against the elements whilst still giving visibility.

The commercial portcullis grille is a rolling grille designed to provide the maximum amount of advertisement for your products while still deterring intruders from entering the premises.Constructed from steel rods with aluminium tubes and links, the portcullis grille offers over 75% vision and is the perfect option for buildings such as jewellers, clothes stores, and estate agents.

They are available with a range of control options, from key switches and rocker switches to remote control, and connections to existing building management systems. There is also an optional battery backup system which enables your business to continue trading even in the event of a power failure.
