Steel Fire Exit Doors

These single and double leaf doors are fitted into compartment walls to confine an outbreak of fire to the smallest area. They are designed to resist the intense heat applied to one side of the door without excessive distortion, and prevent the ignition of combustible materials in the adjoining area,

APPROVAL

The manufacturing process of these doors is quality controlled at all stages controlled at all stages in line with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Standard and is independently audited by the LPCB. The door construction has been tested to BS476 Part 8 at the Warrington Research Centre and obtained the following results:

  • Stability    -  240 minutes (test discontinued)
  • Integrity    -  240 minutes
  • Insulation  -  240 minutes

LEAF CONSTRUCTION

1.2 mm zintec coated sheet steel faces enclose a 40mm inert ceramic fibre insulated core with suitable 2mm steel stiffeners. The total leaf thickness is 43mm. The doors are delivered to site in grey zinc chromate primer for immediate on-site painting by others. The doors can be polyester powder coated any standard BS/Ral colour.

FRAME CONSTRUCTION

Each door leaf is pre-hung by 1.5 pairs of McGill heavy duty hinges, screwed to the leaf and welded to the 2.5mm zintec coated pre-formed steel frame. The inherent 10mm x 50mm bottom cill member completing the 4 sided frame is designed for flush mounting to the floor.
