Traditional Shutters
Curtain Constructed from (20swg) 75mm curved solid (or) perforated steel laths & 50mm flat aluminium laths.
All laths are interlocked with nylon endlocks as standard. 'L' section bottom rails are supplied with each steel curtain as standard and 'T' section bottom rails are supplied with aluminium curtains as standard (and can also be used with the steel shutters if required).
Barrel Manufactured from mild steel tube. Tube sizes vary based on the overall width and height of the curtain and the gauge of laths. The tube wall thickness varies dependant on the width of the shutter, the barrels are mounted on bright steel shafts varying from 16mm to 25mm dependant on the overall size of the shutter, the shafts have support bearings. A tempered steel helical torsion spring (for manual versions) or a tubular motor are contained within the barrel (this type of shutter is designed for limited use only).
Guides 50mm straight galvanised steel guides mounted on 50mm x 50mm x 5mm thick mild steel angles as standard (or) 65mm straight galvanised steel guides on 75mm x 50mm x 6mm mild steel angles (if required).
Hood Formed from 20swg galvanised steel sheet metal.
Endplates Ranging from 2.5mm - 6mm thick mild steel (dependant on size of shutter).
Locking Bullet locks, shootbolts or centre lock supplied as standard (electric shutters do not have a manual locking facility).
Finishes The curtain and guides are galvanised, angles, barrel and end plates are mild steel and brush painted with one coat of grey/black primer as standard. A paint finish using a polyester powder coating system is available, any colour to a BS 4800 or RAL number subject to availability.
